What is flange insulation kit?

The flange insulation kit is used for insulation during flange connection.Generally, the flange insulation kit is composed of four parts, which of course does not include other requirements of the clients in the product description, such as bolts and nuts matching the flanges.

According to the description in recent client orders, “GASKET:VCS,6″,900 LB,TYPE F,TEFLON SEAL,MYLAR SLEEVES, HCS/ZPS WASHERS,FF/RF/RTJ FLANGES,ANSI B16.5”. There are four parts: 1. Insulating Gasket: HPG Gasket, Type F , G10 With 316 Core,PTFE Spring Energized Seals; 2. Insulating Sleeve: Mylar;  3. Steel Washer: ZPS Washer; 4. Insulating Washer: HCS Washer.

In this product description, the gasket type is “F”.  Type F gasket means that the outer diameter extends to the flange bolt hole diameter. It is generally applicable to RF flange, as shown in the following:

Common gasket types include “E” type. The outer diameter of the type E gasket extends to the outer diameter of the flange. Through the accurate positioning of the bolt hole, it can ensure the installation in the center and provide the maximum protection for the flange. As shown in the following:
